George Bernard Shaw, in his play “Pygmalion,” speaks of “having the same manner for all human souls: in short, behaving as if you were in heaven…where one soul is as good as another.” That is the crux of accepting others: welcoming all with the same enthusiasm as we experience in the feeling of belonging.
